Intro to tea: Learn the difference between oolong, sencha, white, and other varieties of tea and proper brewing techniques from Cathy Batdorf, a certified specialist and owner of The Tea Treasury, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Recreation Center. There is a fee of $20.
State of the park district: The public is invited to this update on the goals and accomplishments of the Park District Tuesday at the Community Recreation Center. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the State of the Park District Address beginning at 7 p.m. to conclude around 7:45 p.m.
Passport to the world: Take a virtual trip around the globe at this display of cultural traditions, dress and cuisine, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Community Recreation Center. Sample foods from other cultures and enjoy a rich variety of entertainment. The first 300 guests receive a free Passport to the World souvenir. This event is free.
Summer camp: Visit the park district's Web site or call the park district to check out all the choices for three-week camp sessions this summer. Registration start Feb. 25.
"Jersey Boys": See the 2006 Tony award-winning musical at the LaSalle Bank Theatre. There is a fee of $84 for residents, $70 for nonresidents, which includes ticket and transportation. The trip leaves the Community Recreation Center at noon for return at 6 p.m. Feb. 27.
