Guilty plea in sex case

A 41-year-old Arlington Heights man admitted Monday to molesting a young girl he knew. Dwayne Littlejohn, formerly of 301 Derbyshire Ave., pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and received three years in prison in exchange. The crime is a felony that could have put him behind bars for as many as seven years. Littlejohn, who represented himself in court, had been scheduled to go on trial Monday but struck an 11th-hour deal with prosecutors instead, telling the judge, "I'm tired." He declined further comment after pleading guilty. In exchange for that plea, seven other sex charges against him were dismissed. Prosecutors say that between January and July of 2004, he molested an 11-year-old girl. He admitted the crime to police in early 2007, they said. Littlejohn will be credited for the 344 days he's already spent in jail. He'll also have to give a DNA sample.
