Chicago man found dead in car in Carpentersville

Carpentersville police are investigating the death of a Chicago man who was found dead in a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to Meadowlark Lane shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday for a well-being check, according to a police department release.

Upon arrival, officers found 48-year-old Angel Gonzalez slumped over in the front seat of a white Lexus parked on the street.

An autopsy was conducted Monday but did not reveal an obvious cause of death, the release stated.

No further information was available pending toxicology tests, a Kane County coroner's office representative said.
