Best & Brightest

• Dawn Tutt was awarded a doctor of audiology degree from the School of Audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, Pa. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication disorders and sciences from Southern Illinois University and received a master of arts in audiology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Tutt lives with her husband and children in Batavia, and is the daughter of Susan Minor of Barrington and Don Minor of Lake Zurich. She is in practice at Naperville Hearing Services in Naperville.

• Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, awarded master's degrees to the following students on Aug. 11 at the end of the summer session.

Palatine: Charles Edward Ayers, College of Business, business administration; Marco Angelo Gusella, College of Business, accounting science; Katrina Roloff, College of Education; and Nicole Kristen Winikates, College of Business, business administration.

• Jennifer Levin, daughter of Patti and Mark Levin of South Barrington, was named to the School of Business dean's list at Loyola University Chicago where she is a senior majoring in accounting and finance. Levin is a graduate of St. Anne Catholic grammar school, Barrington and St. Viator High School, Arlington Heights. She is a member of the co-ed business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and has worked in the accounting division of Catholic Charities for over two years while maintaining an outstanding grade-point average.

• Mandy Shellnut of Barrington graduated from Elmhurst College May 27, 2007 with a master's degree in supply chain management.

• Bethanne Carey of Port Barrington graduated from Elmhurst College May 27, 2007 with a master's degree in early childhood special education.

• Lauren Fontela of South Barrington graduated from Elmhurst College May 27, 2007 with a master's degree in business administration.
