Horror shows need for concealed carry

I am both sickened and angered by the carnage that took place at Tinley Park, NIU, and countless other despicable acts of gun violence.

I am sickened and angered, but not at the insane shooters insomuch as at Mayor Richard Daley, Gov. Rod Blagojevich and anti-self-defense legislators that comprise the majority in the Illinois General Assembly.

This "militia" refuses to acknowledge nor allow a vote on any one of a number of legislative bills that would enable citizens of Illinois to have a reasonable chance of protecting themselves.

Oblivious to their own dementia, they pass onerous laws that regressively and cancerously disgrace Second Amendment rights akin to a "death by a thousand cuts."

Staring down the muzzle of a gun held by a violent offender is frightening. But equally frightening is the thought that this current harvest of virtuously misled lawmakers will never awaken from their anti-gun slumber party, only to remain comatose -- locked in a vigorous embrace of their delusional gun control dreams, which are our nightmares.

Since the Illinois House cannot seem to get their communal heads off the pillow of denial, kicking their bedposts with demands for action is now the duty of cognizant Illinois citizens.

Illinois holds no monopoly on institutional righteousness and 48 other states are not all wrong on permitting concealed carry.

House Bill 4544 as introduced by Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Peoria, needs your support.

No law or camera will eliminate gun violence. However, this progressive legislation will enable responsible citizens an opportunity to adequately defend themselves. People of Illinois: do your duty or sweet dreams.
