Republicans can't have it both ways

Elsie Zelms writes terrorists can't wait for George Bush to leave office as they haven't been able to successfully attack us since Sept. 11.

As I recall, the Sept. 11 happened on Bush's watch as he sat paralyzed, reading the pet goat book.

Republicans say the attacks were planned during Clinton's watch, so Bush shouldn't be blamed.

If a Democrat becomes president in the next election, and we suffer a terrorist attack, will these Republicans then admit that the planning occurred while Bush was in office and absolve the Democratic president?

I doubt it.
