Arrests in Des Plaines hotel parking lot

Two Kansas residents are facing pornography, drug and weapons charges after being questioned by Des Plaines police in a hotel parking lot Saturday afternoon, police said Monday. Brian T. Tyree, 25, and Allison C. McKinley, 23, both of Topeka, Kan., were arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon; possession of child pornography; manufacture of child pornography; possession of a controlled substance; and possession of marijuana, police said. Police approached Tyree and a 14-year-old female juvenile in the parking lot of the Extended Stay Hotel, 1207 E. Touhy Ave., because they were acting nervously and because of previous prostitution occurrences at the hotel in the past, police said. Tyree was arrested after police found a loaded firearm while patting him down, police said. Police found that Tyree and two other adult females came to Des Plaines from Kansas for the purpose of prostitution and allowed the 14-year-old to come with them for that purpose, police said. Police officials also found a computer that was used to manufacture and store child pornography, which was used to promote the prostitution business the adults were running, police said. Police also recovered 38 tabs of Ecstasy and about 170 grams of marijuana at the scene, police said. Tyree -- of 2313 SE Madison St., Topeka; and McKinley, of 1637 NE 62nd St., Topeka -- next have court at 9 a.m. on March 13.
