Lily Lake working out development details
A proposed 276-acre development in Lily Lake awaits a village vote on an annexation agreement. The development, which will be located at Route 47 and Empire Road will contain a mix of residential, commercial and mixed development.
The village is working out details of the annexation agreement, said village clerk Heather Galvin. A future date for the vote is still undetermined, she said.
Forty-six acres of the development located northeast of Route 47 and Empire Road is already in the village, with the remaining 230 needing to be annexed.
Kristen Realmuto, of Lighthouse Builders, one of the developers of Huntington Ridge, said the development will consist of approximately 251 single-family homes, twenty-three acres of commercial development, and about eight acres of mixed-use units.
The project is expected to break ground in late 2008 or early 2009, and will take five to nine years to complete.
Realmuto said about forty percent of the land in Huntington Ridge would be set aside for open space.
She said that the development will strive to maintain the character of the surrounding area.
"This is not the place for a Target or Home Depot," said Realmuto. "We are taking consideration for the residents who live here."
