NIU tragedy calls for drastic action

I write this with a great deal of sadness in the wake of the great tragedy at NIU.

We need to write our legislature and demand that we get the guns off the streets.

We should not settle for anything less in the memory of these innocent victims.

No one needs guns except our military and the police. We need to get tough with our politicians and not let the NRA rule on this matter.

How many more innocent people must be killed before something is done?

The business of selling guns and ammunition off of Web sites should be stopped.

The guidelines for checking out these persons is a real joke. If people want to hunt, they should have to check their guns at the place of hunting.

The gun manufacturers should be mandated by the federal government to make contracts with the military and police only. This is the only way we will get these guns under control.

If anyone should get caught with a gun other than a military or police person, that person should go to jail for a good long time.

Think about this before you vent out and say "We have a right to own a gun:"

Well, these students had a right to their life and if you are a parent or will be a parent, just think of how you would feel if you were in the shoes of those parents who have just lost their child.
