Louisville shocks Georgetown

Louisville found a way to rattle Georgetown, shaking up the Big East in the process.

David Padgett scored 18 points, Jerry Smith added 16 and the host Cardinals roared past the sixth-ranked Hoyas, 59-51 on Saturday night.

Louisville (18-6, 8-3 Big East) held Georgetown (19-3, 9-2) to 20 points in the second half, snapping the Hoyas' six-game winning streak by playing the kind of clampdown defense that has become Georgetown's trademark.

The Cardinals held the Hoyas to just 35 percent shooting in the second half, keeping the Hoyas without a field goal for a decisive eight-minute stretch in which the Cardinals took command.

Memphis 85, C. Florida 64: Joey Dorsey had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and top-ranked Memphis (23-0, 9-0 Conference USA) remained the nation's only undefeated team with a win over Central Florida (12-11, 5-4).

Duke 90, Boston College 80: Kyle Singler scored 24 points, and host No. 2 Duke (21-1, 9-0 ACC) shook off some early cold shooting to beat Boston College (12-10, 3-6) and extend its winning streak to 11.

Kansas 100, Baylor 90: Darrell Arthur scored 23 points, and Russell Robinson had 22 and helped fuel a 17-6 spurt in the second half as No. 4 Kansas (23-1, 8-1 Big 12) beat Baylor (17-5, 5-3).

Tennessee 47, LSU 45: JaJuan Smith's steal and layup with 11 seconds left gave No. 7 Tennessee (21-2, 8-1 SEC) a win over host LSU (8-14, 1-7).

Stanford 71, Oregon St. 56: Lawrence Hill scored 14 points, and host No. 9 Stanford (20-3, 9-2 Pac-10) reach the 20-win plateau for the first time under fourth-year coach Trent Johnson with a victory over Oregon State (6-17, 0-11).

Butler 62, Green Bay 57: A.J. Graves led four players in double figures with 16 points, and No. 10 Butler (21-2, 10-2 Horizon League) survived a scare to beat Green Bay (13-10, 7-6).

Women

Connecticut 82, Seton Hall 36: Maya Moore had 28 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 1 Connecticut (21-1, 9-1 Big East) routed host Seton Hall (13-9, 3-7). UConn led by as many as 48 points.

Baylor 68, Texas Tech 45: Danielle Wilson scored 18 points, and host No. 5 Baylor (21-2, 9-1 Big 12) beat Texas Tech (14-9, 2-7).
