Many conservative in name, not actions

While Victor Darst (Feb. 12) lamented our national deficit and attributed it to "… a conservative Republican president," let me remind Darst that President Bush is not a conservative. This is one reason that he has such a low approval rating.

In fact, the president and many congressmen have been much criticized by Republicans for acting too much like Democrats in their overspending fiscal policies and their illegal immigrant appeasement.

The Illinois government takeover by Democrats serves as fair warning to the rest of the country should Democrats win in November.
