Hispanic businesses invited to expo

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Hablamos Espanol Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, downtown Elgin. Admission is free.

The Hablamos Espanol Expo is an opportunity for chamber members to market their products and services in English and Spanish. Chamber members also will be able to recruit prospects for job openings at this event.

The event will feature ethnic dance groups, including Reflejo Latino, Somos Colombia and Elgin Area School District U-46 groups. Other highlights include McGruff, giveaways, food sampling, an art fair, information from the state treasurer's office, the Illinois Department of Labor, the Attorney General's Office, Neighborhood Housing Services, and the Kane County Clerk's Office.

Ozzie the Kane County Cougar will be present from 1 to 3 p.m., and voting machine lessons will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Workshops will be held throughout the day.

ESL information will be available, and organizations with ESL programs will be recruiting instructor candidates.
