Elgin, water district to outline sewer plans

The city of Elgin along with the Fox River Water Reclamation District is seeking public input on pollution prevention and operational plans for their combined sewer systems at 6 p.m. Thursday at Elgin city hall, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin.

The meeting also will provide residents with information about combined sewer overflow and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits.

Draft copies of the city's plans are available for viewing at the city's public works department, 1900 Holmes Road, Elgin, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Draft copies of the district's plans are available for viewing on the Web site at www.frwrd.com.

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency permit number for the city of Elgin is IL0070505 and for the Fox River Water Reclamation District the permit number is IL0028657.
