No injuries in Long Grove fire
A fire in an apartment building near Arlington Heights displaced 22 people Sunday afternoon.
Long Grove Fire Protection Chief Robert Turpel said the fire broke out in the attic of 2228 Nichols Road, Apartment 3E.
Smoke and heavy flames were seen upon arrival, Turpel said. No one was injured in the fire. Smoke and fire damage was contained to the hallways and the apartment where the blaze started.
However, because major utilities were shut off until the building could be inspected, the rest of the people were evacuated as well.
