Kudos to governor on mass transit bill
I just want to say thank you to the governor for finally agreeing to the mass transit plan, even though it has a sales tax increase.
It must have been hard for him to do, and his idea to offset the cost of the tax for seniors is smart and worthwhile.
I use Pace and the CTA multiple times a day, and I don't know what I would have done if the buses stopped running. I also want to say congratulations to state Rep. Julie Hamos for her hard work for the past few years to get this done.
Now, the question is -- are we done yet? I hear rumblings that the legislature is reticent to support the governor's changes.
I say: Are they crazy? Are they really going to vote against seniors two weeks before their primary election?
