General Mills may again raise prices
CHICAGO -- General Mills Inc., the second-largest U.S. cereal maker, expects to raise prices later this year to counter higher dairy and wheat costs after announcing recent increases on its Yoplait and Pillsbury brands. General Mills raised prices on Yoplait yogurt, Pillsbury refrigerated dough and Toaster Strudel pastries and Green Giant canned vegetables Nov. 1, Chief Financial Officer Don Mulligan said Friday at an analyst conference in New York. Kellogg Co., the biggest U.S. cereal maker, and Downers Grove-based Sara Lee Corp. also increased prices.
