Onus on borrower, not government

Recently, there were two letters concerning the mortgage crisis facing many Americans today.

One was about taking responsibility and the other wanted the government to step in and help.

Whether your duckies are in line or you're going through a divorce, death of a loved one or whatever, the responsibility still lies with whoever's signature is on the mortgage. The government is not responsible for whomever signed the agreement.

No one forced these individuals nor held a gun to their heads to sign these mortgage agreements.

Unless those who are in favor of government intervention should contribute their help and tax dollars only and take the responsibility for what went wrong in these individuals lives, I do not wish this to happen to anyone nor have our taxes raised for someone else's mistakes.
