One of the best Christmases yet
To the editor: This Christmas has been one of the best yet at Elk Grove Township. We were able to help 114 families including 275 children, only with the generosity of our township communities. We received a P.O.D. of food collected by Elk Grove High School. I have never seen so much food come in at one time. Thank you Elk Grove High School students and teachers involved in the project. There have been so many individual families who have supplied us with food I don't even know how to thank all of them.
In addition to the food we received a ton of toys collected by the Prudential Real Estate Company and Queen of the Rosary Church in Elk Grove Village. The ladies from Q.R. even came to the township to help us wrap the gifts for the children. We had over 90 families from the township adopt needy families. Books collected from Harper College and the Elk Grove Village Library made it possible to give out at least two books to each child in our Christmas program. In addition there were over 50 individuals, families, churches and companies who donated to the Christmas program as well as our adopt a family program. We could not have done any of this without the help of so many.
Mere words do not begin to express our thoughts and feelings at this time. The generosity, the giving, the sharing of the Christmas spirit in our township has no equal, no measure and no rival anywhere. If anyone says there is no Santa Claus all they would have to do is see his workshop, not at the North Pole, here at Elk Grove Township. If there were a better way to say thank you, I wish I had those words. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all who made this Christmas the best one yet.
