Naperville man dies in one-car crash
A Naperville man died in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning when his car veered off the road and struck a utility pole.
Ben C. Turski, 88, was driving a 1997 Lexus ES300 west on Bailey Road approaching Washington Street just before 6 a.m. when the accident occurred, Naperville Cmdr. Dave Hoffman said.
An autopsy Monday afternoon determined Turski died from multiple traumatic injuries, according to the DuPage County Coroner's office. There were no clues as to what may have caused the accident.
The coroner's office will do a routine toxicology test, and police said they still are investigating.
The accident shut down both sides of Bailey Road between Washington Street and Lighthouse Drive and left about 1,500 residents without electricity for more than an hour Monday morning, according to Ken Quarnstrom, electric utility supervisor for the city.
