Kane County

• A resident of the 1100 block of Manito Trail, Algonquin, reported a man was looking in her window at 11 p.m. Sunday. He is described as 18 to 32, medium build, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with short brown hair.

• A contractor who lives on the 39W400 block of Mallory Drive, Geneva, reported he is being harassed by telephone by a subcontractor because he is not paying the subcontractor in full for work done building a house. The subcontractor had been told, via letter, that all communication was to go through the contractor's attorney. The subcontractor called 13 times and text-messaged twice between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 10:10 a.m. Wednesday.

St. Charles

• Three Chicago women were charged with felony forgery after attempting to cash phony checks Wednesday night at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, police said. Arrested were Duquila S. Daugherty, 20, of 401 W. 57th Place; Terri A. Hale, 20, of 7210 S. Marshfield Ave.; and Kaneika L. Wren, 22, of 6125 S. Laflin St. Police said the trio each presented fraudulent payroll checks from Northwest Community Hospital. The checks were made out for $791.79, $755.59 and $708.17. A Meijer loss prevention officer told police the same women had attempted to cash the checks earlier that day at a Meijer store in Elgin but were unsuccessful. Bond was set at $10,000 each. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

• Charlotte M. Scheffler, 19, of 33W225 Bonnie St., was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and driving with an expired registration on the first block of East Main Street, police said. Scheffler posted $100 bail and was released with a notice to appear in court Feb. 21.

• Kami L. Tobolt, 28, of 609 N. Tyler Road, was arrested at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday and charged with retail theft after stealing $65 in makeup and other items from Wal-Mart, 150 Smith Road, police said. Tobolt was released with a notice to appear in court Feb. 21.

• Tire marks caused $250 in yard damage on the 100 block of South 11th Street between Monday and Wednesday.

• Tire marks caused $500 in damage to a baseball field on the 1000 block of Illinois Street between Monday and Wednesday.

• A car window valued at $350 and two side mirrors valued at $200 each were damaged Thursday on the 100 block of Walnut Drive.
