3 charged in 2-year-old boy's death

ALTON -- Madison County prosecutors have charged the parents of a two-year-old Alton boy and another woman with first-degree murder in the child's death.

Authorities say 23-year-old Johnny Angel Garcia of East Alton is charged in the December 28 death of his son, Maxwell Eyer.

The boy's mother, 24-year-old Linsey Eyer of Alton, and Garcia's girlfriend, 26-year-old Jeanine Lansdon of East Alton, are also charged with endangering the life and health of a child and obstructing justice.

Maxwell died after being taken to St. Anthony's Hospital. Alton Detective David Hayes says he died from internal head injuries.

Garcia was ordered held without bail. Eyer and Lansdon are in custody on $1 million bail each.
