French authorities to study evidence in killing of Chicago doctor
French prosecutors will come to Chicago this month to study evidence in the case of a dual-citizen man accused of killing a Chicago dermatologist in 2006.
An arrest warrant was issued in Chicago for Hans Peterson in the death of Dr. David Cornbleet. But Peterson turned himself in to French authorities last year.
A French judge ruled Peterson won't be extradited because he's also a French citizen.
He's to be tried in a French court.
A report in Sunday's Chicago Sun-Times says U.S. officials must cooperate because of an international treaty.
French officials arrive January 14th and will investigate evidence gathered by Chicago authorities.
