Sun City updates
The Head Huggers: This charitable arm of the Sew 'n' Sews club of Sun City which makes chemo caps for distribution to local hospitals and oncology offices is now meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the sewing room of the Prairie Lodge. Members make caps in 10 different styles; kits and instructions are available.

The caps are also available in the Wellness Center by Centegra in Sun City; up to three caps per person are free of charge.
Neighborhood 33: Women's Luncheon is at noon Jan. 15 at Walleye Grill. Separate checks. Call Maridene Aiken at (847) 659-9492 by Jan. 13, if planning to attend.
Neighborhood 33: Men's Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at Village Restaurant, Huntley. If going, please call Chuck Theis at (847) 669-3165) by Jan. 16.
Tiara Tea Society: Mark your calendars for noon Jan. 11 when the group will dine at the On Q Club/Hennessy's Steak & Seafood Restaurant in Elgin, a billiard room and restaurant. Billiard tables available for play after lunch.
There will be a short talk and demonstration by co-owner and world champion billiard player, Tom Karabatsos.
Menu selections include Sedona barbecue chicken salad, spinach ravioli or sirloin roast beef sandwich.
Chocolate mousse tort, beverage, tax and gratuity are included in the cost of $24.75.

Antique and Collectible Club: The next meeting will be Jan. 24 at the Mid-America Bank by Culvers. Bring ideas for programs at meetings. For more information, call Ronda Goldman (224) 654-2070.
Breast Cancer Support Hour--Sun City: The group will take a winter break in January. Regular meetings will resume in February.
The group welcomes men and women of Sun City who are newly diagnosed or survivors of breast cancer in a non-clinical, congenial atmosphere, sharing ideas and friendship as part of healing.
Gazebo Quilters Guild: The Gazebo Quilters Guild meets at 9:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the First Congregational Church of Huntley, 11628 E. Main St. For information, call Kae McQueen at (847) 515-8852. Socializing begins at 9 a.m. with the meeting at 9:30 a.m. On Jan. 8, join an inspiring program given by quilter Connie Pomering. Ideas will be given on design and color. Remember to bring non-perishable food items for the Grafton Township Food Pantry. In February, there will be a "Make and Take" workshop, given by a quilter from That Quilt Shop in Carpentersville.
Sew 'n' Sews: The club offers programs and workshops on a variety of interests to assist members at all skill levels. The sewing room equipment is available for use by members after an orientation provided by the club monitors. Open sewing hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Evening hours are available by appointment with a monitor. Annual dues are $12.
The club normally meets at 9 a.m. on the first Monday of the month in Drendel Hall.
