Briefs: Open house correction
Citizens for Kaneland and the Sugar Grove Library Friends will hold an open house for residents of the Kaneland School District and the Sugar Grove Public Library District from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Grove Community House, 141 Main St. This is an informal event designed to help voters make an informed decision Feb. 5 regarding the school district's and the library's referendum questions. Handouts, slide shows, architect's plans and artist's renderings of the new library, as well as plans for the school district construction will be featured. Representatives of the Citizens for Kaneland and the Sugar Grove Library Friends will be available to answer questions. Library trustees will be available from 7 to 8 p.m. to discuss construction plans for the new library. The date for this event was incorrect in Monday's "Fox Valley in 60 seconds."
Chapel celebrates opening
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday will mark the opening of Chapel by the Fox at 815 E. Main St., St. Charles. Refreshments will be served, and visitors can tour the chapel. Call (630) 443-4111.
Police group picks officers
The Kane County Chiefs of Police Association installed new officers Jan. 17. They are Cmdr. Joe G. Frega, Geneva Police Department, as president; Chief James Lamkin, St. Charles Police Department, vice president; Chief Greg Anderson, Campton Hills Police Department, secretary; Chief Edward Dennis (Ret.), West Dundee Police Department, treasurer; Deputy Chief Robert Beeter, Elgin Police Department, sergeant at arms.
Super party and it's free!
