Indiana clobbers Iowa

Indiana knocked out Iowa with its usual 1-2 combination Wednesday night.

D.J. White scored 19 points and Eric Gordon 17 as the No. 7 Hoosiers extended their winning streak to 13 with a 65-43 victory over Iowa.

Indiana (17-1, 6-0) has won 29 in a row at Assembly Hall, the nation's fourth-longest home winning streak. It's the best start in Big Ten play and the longest winning streak at Indiana since 1992-93 -- also the last time they won an outright conference title. The Hoosiers' only loss this season came Nov. 24 against Xavier.

Iowa (9-11, 2-5) was led by Tony Freeman with 14 points but was plagued by 20 turnovers and struggled to contend with Indiana's deep roster and better athletes. It was Iowa's second loss to Indiana this season.

Unlike the previous game, though, which Indiana held on to win 79-76, Indiana dominated this one. It outscored the Hawkeyes 31-13 off turnovers, 32-16 in the paint and limited Iowa to 6-for-28 shooting, 21.4 percent, in the second half.

Memphis 56, Tulsa 41: Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 20 points, Derrick Rose added 19 points, and top-ranked Memphis (18-0, 5-0 Conference USA) beat host Tulsa (9-7, 1-3). After winning each of its last six games by at least 20 points, Memphis didn't take a double-digit lead until Douglas-Roberts' two-handed jam with 6:21 remaining made it 48-38.

Kansas 83, Iowa St. 59: Darnell Jackson had 21 points and 11 rebounds to help host No. 2 Kansas (19-0, 4-0 Big 12) defeat Iowa State (12-7, 2-2). The Jayhawks dominated almost from the start, leading by 10 at halftime en route to their 33rd victory in their last 34 games.

N. Carolina 98, Miami 82: Tyler Hansbrough scored 27 of his season-high 35 points after halftime, Ty Lawson scored 15 of his 23 points in the opening 20 minutes, and No. 5 North Carolina (19-1, 4-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) beat host Miami (14-4, 1-3). Hansbrough made 10 of 15 shots from the floor and 15 of 16 from the line.

Purdue 64, Penn St. 42: Robbie Hummel had 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists, and Purdue (14-5, 5-1 Big Ten) defeated host Penn State (10-8, 2-4). Namanja Calasan and E'Twaun Moore each added 11 points for the Boilermakers, who won their fourth straight.

Missouri St. 63, S. Illinois 62: Dale Lamberth hit 2 free throws with 1.7 seconds left to lead host Missouri State (11-9, 4-4 Missouri Valley) over Southern Illinois (9-10, 4-4). Lamberth finished with 24 points. Matt Shaw led Southern Illinois with 18 points, Mullins scored 12 and Randal Falker 10.

Bradley 76, Illinois St. 75: Theron Wilson scored 20 points, including the game-winning foul shot with eight seconds left, to lead Bradley (10-10, 3-5 Missouri Valley) over Illinois State (14-5, 6-2). Bradley sank 13 3-pointers, including 5 by Wilson and four from Andrew Warren, who finished with 17 points.
