Whodunit spoof at Elk Grove
Elk Grove High School presents Tom Stoppard's spoof of a whodunit, "The Real Inspector Hound," in the school theater, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village, at 7 p.m. Jan. 24-26.
The play breaks down the boundary between performer and spectator to create a play-within-a-play, as the audience is invited to help solve the Muldoon Manor murder.
Two theater critics, Moon (played by sophomore Graham Kennedy) and Birdboot (played by junior Matt Wilkinson), attend an over-the-top murder mystery performance. They somehow become involved in the action, causing a series of events that parallel the play they are watching. There is a clever twist in the plot and a surprise ending.
Tickets are available at the door for $7, general admission; students and senior citizens, $6. Call (847) 718-4532 or 4553 during school hours.
