Man jailed on drug charge

A 25-year-old Rolling Meadows man who authorities say twice sold cocaine to an undercover officer was ordered held on $450,000 bond Thursday. Manuel Perez-Rosas, of the 4700 block of Arbor Drive, faces charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, prosecutors said. Authorities said he sold about 4.5 grams of cocaine to an undercover officer in the parking lot of a Wheeling store on Jan. 7. A week later, he sold nearly 88 grams of the drug to the same officer in the same location, authorities said. A search of his home later turned up more cocaine and marijuana, authorities said. Perez-Rosas later told police he sold drugs to help pay his bills, prosecutors said. He's set to appear in court again Feb. 13.
