Zubaz is taking the lead in Super Bowl fashion

Lots of guys watch football in their pajamas or, if friends are coming over, clean pajamas.

Now, just in time for Super Bowl Sunday, a Wisconsin business is making it possible to wear the ultimate in vintage football fashion: Zubaz.

The company recently revived the puffy, brightly colored animal-print pants with an elastic waist -- elastic being the key design element.

Zubaz (pronounced zoo-buzz) were popular in the late 1980s and early '90s. They were worn by weightlifters, fat guys and football fans (you used to be able to get them in NFL team colors, but not now).

Good news ladies: Zubaz are now made for you, too. His and hers? Are you seeing it?

The comfy pants come in a variety of colors ($29.99, www.zubaz.com). Matching shorts, T-shirts and hats will be available later this year.

Football and kids

You could give toddlers a Tom Brady doll to play with, or, you could let them play with one of the football-shaped baby toys from Taggies Touchdown line. The key to Taggies products are the abundance of satin tags, which little kids often love more than the toys themselves. ($12.95-$24.95, at Babies R Us, Nordstrom and www.taggies.com/home_us.html)

For older kids, there is the Griddly Headz football board game. Appropriate for the whole family, it's described as "dice rolling and sports related challenges combined with strategy, alliances and a bit of luck." Available in mini, family and special editions. ($29.95 - $59.95, www.griddlyheadz.com)

Joy in Fugsville

You really want to get to a bookstore Tuesday, because that's the day the "Go Fug Yourself Presents The Fug Awards" (Simon Spotlight Entertainment, $19.95) comes out.

The two female authors pen the brutally funny celebrity fashion blog, www.gofugyourself.com.

What's Fug mean? It's short for "fantastically ugly," the women say.

Their book will contain award topics like "The most egregious misuse of breasts" and the "Tanorexia Award for the person most addicted to bronzer."

Election day fashion

Little ones who accompany their parents to the polls Tuesday can dress for the occasion. Wry Baby carries a fun line of kids clothes, everything from "Totally Non-Partisan" onesies to "Me for President" T-shirts. ($24-$40, www.wrybaby.com)
