Des Plaines beauty supply store robbed

A retail theft at the Sally Beauty Supply in Des Plaines turned into an armed robbery Wednesday evening, police said. Two people at the store at 1531 Lee St. were attempting to walk out with some items around 6:30 p.m. when one displayed a gun, police said. Both ran off before police arrived.
