Fire guts Lincolnshire town house
Fire left one Lincolnshire residence uninhabitable Monday evening, but firefighters stopped the fire from damaging seven other residences, officials said.
Firefighters were called to 129 Rivershire Lane around 6:30 p.m. and found smoke showing from the garage of a residential building of eight town houses, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Rob Ugaste said.
Firefighters evacuated the building and were able to contain the fire to the attached garage and away from the other residences, Ugaste said.
The fire was under control in about 15 minutes and caused about $25,000 in damage. One of the town houses was left uninhabitable, Ugaste said.
No one was injured. Lake Forest, Long Grove, Countryside, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield and Highwood fire departments assisted with the blaze.
