Pick tough, fair Golden for judge

I am writing in support for Judge Patricia Piper-Golden for judge in the 2nd Sub-circuit in the Feb. 5 Republican primary.

Last year, Golden was unanimously elevated from associate to circuit Judge by the Illinois Supreme Court. Judicial experience is important and Golden is the only candidate running, from any party, who has judicial experience.

Being a judge is tough, and the experience she brings proves her judicial temperament, her fairness and her overall qualification. Golden brings a rare combination of fairness and toughness.

You only have to visit her courtroom, as I urge you to do between now and the time you vote, to see the respect with which she treats defendants (innocent until proven guilty) and the tough application of the law once verdicts have been reached.

Golden's resume is replete with accomplishments, including her service as an assistant state's attorney prosecuting Class X felonies. She also helped establish the Child Advocacy Center in Kane County.

We have a rare opportunity to make the law function as it should by keeping Patricia Golden in the circuit.
