Don't delay second incorporation vote
It is now clear the voters of Campton Hills will get a second opportunity to make their wishes known albeit not until November. Adding more delay to an already insane situation is not in the best interests of those who favor or those who oppose the new village.
I oppose the village largely because the folks who promoted it had a very narrow agenda and no handle on what it costs to run a new municipality in these litigious days.
I don't want to pay more taxes and my bet is that the majority of the voters in Campton Hills don't want more taxes either. But my letter is not to revisit the issues which have been widely discussed given the efforts of nine subdivisions to disconnect from the new village and the "foot-in-mouth" disease of present village officials.
The question should be settled now and not needlessly drawn-out for another nine months. We need to vote now, not later.
