Teens to dance, dance at library
Teens will have the opportunity to do more than study when the Batavia Public Library holds its first Dance Dance Revolution tournament.
The tournament begins from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 20 and continues on Feb. 3 and 17, and March 2. Prizes will be awarded to middle school and high school winners.
Dance Dance Revolution is a dancing game played on a dance pad with 8 arrow panels. The players press the panels with their feet in response to arrows that appear on a screen in front of them.
The tournament will be held in the library meeting room. Dance moves will be projected on a large screen suspended from the ceiling.
Middle school and high school students with a Batavia Public Library card or who attend Batavia schools are invited. Students need to bring their library card or student ID, or other proof of age or grade.
Practice sessions for all contestants will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Registration for the tournament is required; call (630) 879-4777 to register.
