Pay raises approved for some Mundelein High employees
Mundelein High School's administrative assistants and maintenance workers are among the employees who'll get 6-percent pay raises this summer.
The school board on Tuesday approved the salary bumps for those workers, as well as staffers working in the business and technology offices and some departmental directors.
Additionally, the board approved 3-percent salary increases for Superintendent Kevin Myers, Principal Anthony Kroll and other administrators, as well as directors and department leaders.
"(It covers) all members of the administration - it is an across-the-board raise," school spokesman Ron Girard said.
The one-year deals are effective July 1. Neither employee group is represented by a labor union.
Twenty employees will receive 6-percent raises, Girard said. Twenty employees will receive 3-percent raises.
The raises will bump the average administrative salary to $127,243, Girard said. The average salary for the workers receiving 6-percent raises will increase to $73,270.
All together, the raises will cost the district an additional $145,445, Girard said.
The school board's current contract with the teachers' labor union expires in 2020.
A contract with the union representing the school's support workers, such as secretaries and instructional aides, expires in 2019.
