More charges could follow in theft case

A 60-year-old Sugar Grove woman was arrested Friday and charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person.

According to Sugar Grove investigator John Sizer, Pamela Naifeh-Ellison of the 200 block of KeDeKa Road also was charged with unlawful use of a credit card. Police say she charged more than $5,000 to the victim's card.

Naifeh-Ellison was taken into custody shortly after a judge signed a warrant setting bail at $40,000. She was released after posting $4,000 in cash.

Sizer said the investigation has been in progress since November, when relatives of the victim told police the man was missing. Relatives reported Naifeh-Ellison had removed him from his home and refused to tell them where he was.

Police found the victim Nov. 20 in a Naperville nursing home. The investigation is continuing with possible additional charges pending.
