Long Grove board to go over tax break plan

The joint review board that has been looking at the proposed Long Grove tax increment financing district will meet once again Thursday to make a recommendation on the issue before a public hearing Tuesday. At the Long Grove village board meeting last night, Trustee Ted Lazakis said the board, which is made of interested and affected taxing bodies, had been looking at whether the proposed TIF area downtown meets eligibility requirements. He said questions have also come up about what constitutes vacancies, which is one of the requirements for establishing a TIF.
