Cuba Road plan will increase traffic
I find the recent proposal by a local public official, to close Cuba Road to east-bound traffic at Rand Road, to border on the unbelievable.
This proposal is certain to increase traffic congestion on local roads, in an area already choking on traffic, for the benefit of large national commercial developers. While the owners who are the chief beneficiaries of this development might seldom find themselves stuck in this increased congestion, the local traveling public, which includes the local politicians themselves, will find themselves increasingly stuck everyday.
We have an abundance of commercial development in the area and a dearth of open roads. If the local public good is to be served, this proposal should be sent to the ashcan immediately.
