Two hurt in Arlington Heights car crash

Ambulances took two people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash ended with one vehicle in a retention pond on Rand Road, officials said. Arlington Heights fire officials were called to a retention pond near 800 W. Rand Road at 12:51 p.m. When they arrived, about one-third of a vehicle was submerged in the pond. Rescue officials took two occupants of that vehicle to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The injuries were believed to be minor, officials said.
