Fire destroys Elgin garage

The garage of a ranch home in Elgin was destroyed after a fire Wednesday morning. The fire department responded to 616 Raymond St. around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday for a fire that spread from the garage to the back of the house, according to reports. No cars were in the garage at the time, according to the Elgin Fire Department, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews were on the scene until about 12:45 p.m. There were no injuries in the fire. Damage estimates were unavailable Wednesday.
