Elgin church to welcome Dove Award nominee

Continuing its yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Elgin will welcome Dove Award nominee Shaun Groves in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2700 W. Highland Ave. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

Groves is a songwriter who was nominated by his peers for Songwriter of the Year solely on the strength of his 2001 debut, "Invitation to Eavesdrop."

He followed that up with "Twilight" in 2003 and "White Flag" in 2005. In 2007, he released "One Night in Knoxville."
