Elgin
• A Monday night argument in Elgin took a violent turn, after the woman stabbed the man she was fighting with in the head with a steak knife, police said. The incident occurred at 11:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Washington Street. The man was taken to Sherman Hospital where he was treated for nonlife threatening injuries, Lt. Sean Rafferty said. Talisha T. Rogers, 27, of the 1200 block of Amanda Circle, Elgin, was charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor domestic battery. Her bond was set at $20,000 and she is due in court Dec. 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Meanwhile, police were not releasing where the man was stabbed.
• Adam R. Torres, 25, of the 1200 block of Robinwood Drive, Elgin, faces several felony charges, police said, after he hit a police officer in the arm with his car. Police said the officer pulled the car over at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Dundee Avenue for turning without signaling and that the officer opened the door to pull Torres out after he refused to get out on his own. When the officer reached into the car, Torres accelerated and the door hit her in the back of the arm. Police arrested him a few blocks later on Ludlow and Preston avenues. Reports said he also lied about his name and that officers found 2.5 grams marijuana and a drug pipe in his possession. Torres was charged with felony aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, police said. His bond was set at $12,000 and he is due in court Dec. 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center. The officer did not require medical attention.
• Stephen Njoroge, 33, who is homeless, was arrested and charged twice with criminal trespass on Monday, reports said. The first instance occurred at 3:54 p.m. at a convenience store in the 0-99 block of State Street; the second occurred when he was found sleeping in an apartment stairwell at 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Highland Avenue, reports said.
• Someone broke the right passenger window of a car outside Channing School, 63 S. Channing St., between 6 and 9 p.m. Monday and stole a GPS and iPod, reports said.
• Someone broke the windshield of a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am at 3:43 a.m. Friday as it was driven at Crystal and Locust Streets, reports said. A 23-year-old passenger in the car got glass in her eyes and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Carpentersville
• A Carpentersville teenager faces several felony charges stemming from a Nov. 19 fight on a District 300 school bus that involved brass knuckles. Police said that Jason C. Lewis, 17, of the 100 block of Adobe Circle, Carpentersville, punched a 16-year-old boy in chest and leg on the school bus while wearing a set of brass knuckles at 1 p.m. He was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. Bond was set at $10,000 and his next court date is Dec. 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Huntley
• A bicycle was stolen on Monday, Nov. 23, from a driveway on the 10500 block of Yellowstone Drive, police said.
• A cell phone was stolen on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from an unlocked gym locker at Huntley High School, police said.
• A wallet was stolen on Sunday, Nov. 29, from an unlocked vehicle on the 9300 block of Diana Lane, police said.
Kane County
• A JVC stereo was reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle on the 9N500 block of Irwin Drive, Elgin Township, according to police.
