Chiropractor offering care in exchange for coats

Elgin's Community Crisis Center and Landin Chiropractic Care are teaming up to distribute winter coats to local families during this year's time of need or crisis.

Dr. Dana Landin of Landin Chiropractic Care will host a winter coat drive now through Dec. 21. New patients will receive first and second day services for no charge, in lieu of $265, by bringing in a new or gently used winter coat.

In addition, Landin Chiropractic Care has teamed up with the Community Crisis Center by donating the proceeds for every new patient that visits the office. The new patient cost will be reduced to $99 in lieu of $265. Each new patient is invited to include one friend or family member at no additional cost. The new patient fee consists of the first and second appointments, and includes consultation, exam, X-rays, and report. The reduced rate will run from Dec. 28 to Jan. 29.

The Community Crisis Center's mission is to help those in crisis due to domestic violence, sexual assault, or economic circumstances. Every year they can expect more families in the area, in need of a warm coat during Elgin's cold winters. Call (224) 856-5617 to make an appointment or visit 1990 Larkin Ave., Suite 1, Elgin to bring in a coat.
