Fallen Ill. soldiers honored in Iraq
SPRINGFIELD -- Four fallen Illinois soldiers have been honored for their support of postal operations in Iraq.
The names of the four Illinois National Guard soldiers appears on a bronze plaque at the new post office at Joint Base Balad in Balad, Iraq. Five other soldiers and civilians are also listed.
The Illinois soldiers are: 23-year-old Spc. Jeremy Ridlen of Maroa, 23-year-old Spc. Charles Lamb of Casey, 26-year-old Sgt. Shawna Morrison of Paris and 21-year-old Sgt. Jessica Cawvey of Normal.
All were killed in action in 2004.
The new Balad post office was dedicated during a ceremony this month.
