No insurance better than what's on table
I do not want the government involved with my health care. I do not currently have health insurance, but would rather not have anything than that current piece of legislation to be put in place.
Our laws were designed to insure limited government involvement in the daily lives of the citizens of this country. But bit by bit those limits are going away.
I do not believe that this bill is healthy. It is more of a government power grab than anything else. The government can't even handle what it already has on its plate.
This legislation is bad for businesses. And what is bad for businesses is bad for individuals who want to work for those businesses, which are already struggling to make payroll.
Why not go after the real culprits of the health care cost "crisis" - the drug companies and insurance companies?
This bill is just plain too much government control. I require proof that the government can do what they claim they are trying to do, but have been failing.
Here's another little tidbit. As far as medical debt affecting a person's credit, how many people know that it is illegal for most businesses to consider medical debt when processing an application/performing a credit check? It is true, at least in the housing industry and several others as well.
More to consider: Just when are the companies who have already been bailed out going to stop giving out huge bonuses to underperformers? Those funds would be better used to help avoid cutting Medicare. Make them pay it back if they are just going to waste it in that way.
