State No. 7 nationwide with foreclosures

IRVINE, Calif. -- Foreclosure filings - including default notices, scheduled foreclosure auctions and bank repossessions - were reported on 306,627 properties nationwide during November, a decrease of about 8 percent from the previous month but up 18 percent from November 2008, according to a report released today by RealtyTrac.

Illinois rated No. 7 nationwide with 16,422 total filings, a decrease of about 18 percent from the previous month, but an increase of 108 percent from November 2008.

About 52 percent of the nation's foreclosure activity took place in California, Florida, Michigan and Illinois.
