Small fire damages Libertyville paint store
Residents living above a Libertyville paint store discovered a fire in the shop late Saturday night and reported it before it grew out of control, authorities said.
The blaze at G. Mann Painting, 429 E. Park Ave., was discovered about 10:45 p.m. Businesses operate on the first floor of the building, and apartments are on the second floor.
Residents called 911 after they came home and saw sparks coming from the roof and smoke coming from the store, Libertyville firefighters said Sunday.
Crews arrived and quickly put out the blaze. It did not spread to other businesses or the apartments.
No one was hurt, nor were any of the residents displaced because of the blaze, authorities said.
A damage estimate was not available. The fire's cause is under investigation.
