Officials to accept campsite reservations
SPRINGFIELD -- It might not feel like camping weather, but state officials say they'll soon start taking reservations for the 2010 camping season.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says reservations can be made by mail starting Jan. 4 and in person and over the phone starting Feb. 1.
The agency's director Marc Miller says campgrounds at state parks are a popular place for anglers, hunters, hikers and families. He says early reservations means there'll be enough sites available.
State officials say there is a $5 reservation fee.
