Residents scramble to replace items stolen from food bank

DANVILLE -- People in Danville are scrambling to replace $2,700 worth of food stolen before it could be delivered to a local food bank.

Sheri Beck is a board member of the Danville Area Food Pantry. She says the food was taken last weekend after being donated at a local grocery store.

Beck says the food would have fed the 400 families the food pantry serves for two months.

She says firefighters and others have started making donations to replace what was taken.

Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer says police are trying to figure out who stole the food.
