Aurora U. students get royal treatment from professors

Aurora University students gave orders - Thanksgiving dinner food requests - to their professors Nov. 19.

About 45 faculty and staff members donned hairnets, aprons and white gloves to serve a record 350 resident students an early Turkey Day feast in the campus cafeteria.

Teachers and administrators turned volunteer waiters took food orders, delivered requests and cleared tables.

Sodexo Food Service sponsored the annual holiday feast - a five-course dinner including salad, roasted turkey or Cornish hen, vegetables and desserts.

Some students requested their favorite professor or staff member to serve them. Volunteers worked from one to three hours.

Their reward, in addition to personal satisfaction, was dinner at the end of their shift.
