Judson's Tyton, Thornton earn awards
Two former area high school soccer stars have earned postseason awards for Judson University.

Tyton helped the Eagles to a 19-3-1 season and the NCCAA national championship. In the 23 matches he played, he came away with 9 shutouts and had 98 saves with a 0.89 goals against average. Tyton now has 15 career shutouts at Judson.
He was also named to the CCAC all-conference first team this season, the all-tournament team at the NCCAA national tournament, the NCCAA Defensive MVP and the NCCAA all-region team.
Meanwhile, Dundee-Crown alum Christina Thornton was also named an NCCAA first team All-American. The award is the sixth on the national level for the Eagles' senior.
Thornton will leave Judson as the program's all-time leader in goals scored (79) and points (181). In leading the Eagles to a third-place finish at the NCCAA national tournament, she scored 20 goals this season and had 4 assists. She was also named to the NCCAA all-tournament and all-region teams, as well as being a CCAC all-conference first team selection.
